Pokémon Astronomical Observatory (Japanese: ポケモン天文台 Pokémon Astronomical Observatory) is a traveling astronomy exhibit themed around the Pokémon franchise. It is organized in partnership with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), an astronomy research institution in the country. By drawing parallels to the ecology of various Pokémon, the exhibit will provide education on astronomy and various celestial bodies, such as the Sun, the Moon, and faraway galaxies.[1] Its mascot is Stargazer Pikachu (Japanese: ほしぞらピカチュウ Starry Sky Pikachu).[2]

The exhibits will feature explanation panels in both Japanese and English.[1]

The initiative is produced by "My First Pokémon Project", a team within The Pokémon Company that was established in August 2018 and is responsible for various Pokémon experiences geared towards children, including the traveling paleontology exhibit Pokémon Fossil Museum.[3] The exhibit at the Kenshin Koriyama Cultural Center (Fukushima) is considered as part of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary.[4]
